Plany twierdzy Kamieniec Podolski do 1795 roku

Opis

Druga grupa — plany wykonane w okresie okupacji tureckiej, czyli w latach 1672–1699. The plans were divided into three groups based on the history of the fortress. The first group includes plans created up until the year 1672, i.e. until the moment Kamianets-Podilskyi was conquered by the Ottoman troops. The second group includes plans created during the period of Turkish occupation, i.e. in the years 1672–1699. The third group, which includes the highest number of plans, are plans created after the recapture of the fortress in 1699, until the moment when it was taken over by Russia during the Second Partition of Poland in 1793.The plans have been ordered according to the date of their creation (frequently this date was only estimated). Consecutive numbers have been assigned to them. Many of the newer plans were created based on older ones and I tried to arrange such plans in order, next to each other. In the 17th and the 18th century the notion of copyright did not exist. If some publisher obtained a plate with an engraving, common practice back then was to erase the name of the previous owner, who was frequently the author of the engraving, and place one’s own name there instead. If a subsequent plan was reproduced from the same plate in which only small changes were introduced, most frequently this was the name of the author, then, in this work, sub-points were assigned to such plans, e.g. plans with the following numbers: 5.1.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.3 etc. Some engravings were copied, i.e. engraved anew. In such cases I assigned separate numbers to the plans.
